Fertilization results

It was really weird but I dreamed all night about how many of my eggs would get fertilized. Being the objective pessimist that I am, I think the final count was two, and so I woke up feeling very grumpy about my dream.

Fortunately dreams do not always come true, and I'm happy to say that we have more than 2 eggs fertilized. "Good job!" said the nurse (which she almost always never does, since she usually delivers us bad news). Out of the 10 eggs, 8 were mature. They ICSIed all 8 eggs, and out of the 8, seven were successfully fertilized!

It is kinda amazing to think that right now, there are seven tiny little mini-us's floating around in a petri dish, where I can just envision this kind of conversation happening:

Zygote 1: Yo, what's happening?
Zygote 2: Not much, just dividin'.

Boy, do I crack myself up.

So now we wait until Friday, when we'll get an update on the embryos, which will hopefully be blastocysts by then. If all goes well, the nurse estimates that we're likely doing a Saturday transfer. Until then, I will keep my fingers, toes, eyes, arms, legs crossed, silently praying for more happy news to come our way.
